Kano PDP Chairman: PDP To Seek Legal Redress.
The Kano state chairman of the peoples democratic party PDP, Mr. Rabiu said the party is going to pursue it’s right through legal means. He cried that ”today is a sad day for Nigerian democracy, especially in Kano”.
“ Remember that all governorship elections in Nigeria were conducted on March 9 not just only in Kano state but Nigeria as a whole.
Aftermath of the election, brought forth the results from 43 out of 44 local governments which INEC we have majority of the votes. The reason for the supplementary election came up as a result of violence in Nasarawa local government. Where the state deputy governor, the commissioner for local government and chairman of Nasarawa local government led some armed thugs to attacked the collation center and disrupt the process by tearing the result sheets.
This is believed to be the reason why INEC called for this supplementary election. As we all know, the Nigerian constitution doesn’t know anything supplementary election; all we know is that we have won our election. What is happening today in Kano state is simply unconstitutional,” he added.
